Are You GUILTY Of Committing The "Deadliest Of Sins" In Your Business?

They say the "Wages of Sin" is death.

And when you commit this particular sin, it's no joke. You're actually choking the life right out of your own business.

According to research done by Small Business Trends, by committing this sin you are...

  • cutting off 80% of all your future profits
  • eliminating where 65% of all your future sales will come from
  • losing out on an easy 33% increase per transaction
  • reducing the chances of making a sale from 60-70% down to a measly 5-25%

What exactly is this "Sin" most small business owners are guilty of?

And why can this SIN actually be Good News for you? (I'll reveal the answer a little bit later).

But first let me share a case study about what happened to me when I committed this same SIN and how I ran into serious trouble.

Hi, I'm Dusty Roberts.

Over the last 30 years I've been cleaning area rugs in my city of Victoria, BC. I own the #1 rug cleaning company in my area and am recognized as the "go-to" authority when it comes to rugs.

But because of a devastating fire to the building I was in back in 2008, my business suffered a major set back and exposed a vulnerability I never knew I had.

Here's what happened...

After a fire burned the previous building I was in to the ground, I had to move my area rug cleaning company into a brand new location.

After moving in, business was really slow. A few months went by and things didn't pick up much at all.

We were heading into what is normally our slowest time of the year and if things didn't change soon I wasn't sure what was going to happen.

So I had a meeting with a marketing friend of mine and told him what was going on. I told him how advertising only pulled money out of my wallet instead of putting customers into my store. Referrals weren't coming in either and street traffic was virtually non-existent.

So he asked me about my list of past customers. As it turned out I had good sized list but never did anything with them.

That's when I discovered I was guilty of committing the "Deadliest Sin".

Just like most small businesses, I only focused my time and money on finding new customers. Once they bought, I completely ignored them.

I assumed that because I provided great service, customers who bought from me before would come back again on their own.

I found out the hard way that was a stupid assumption.

Why? Because business is all about relationships.

My marketing friend asked me this question: "If you spent time and money jumping through all kinds of hoops to get a date with someone you liked and then completely ghosted them after - would they want to see you again?"

When I answered "No" I suddenly understood my problem.

I finally realized since I made no effort to build a relationship with my customers there was no reason for them to WANT to come back.

That's when he told me I was focusing all my marketing efforts in the wrong area. Instead of only going after new customers who didn't know or trust me...

...it would be easier, cheaper and much more profitable to market to my past customers.

How much more profitable? Here are the stats:

  • It costs 4 to 7 times more to find a new customer than to sell to an existing one (White House Office of Consumer Affairs)
  • A 5 percent increase in customer retention leads to an increase in profits of between 25 and 95 percent (Bain & Co.)
  • 30% of customers would buy again if they were only asked
  • A 10% increase in customer retention levels result in a 30% increase in the value of the company

So my #1 job now is to build and maintain strong relationships with my customers so they'll only want to buy from me and no one else.

That meant going to my customers rather than waiting for them to come to me.

So the first thing I needed to do was reactivate my relationship with past customers. I did that by sending out a carefully worded letter along with an irresistible offer so they would come back and be an active customer again.

My marketing friend created a spectacular customer reactivation letter for me and when I mailed it out to a small portion of my list, it generated nearly $30,000 in sales in less than two weeks.

This letter works so well, I now mail it out every year to reactivate dormant customers and it brings in about $15-$25k each time.

But Do You Know What The Best Part Of This Letter Is?

I had my marketing friend transform this letter into a fill-in-the-blanks template, so you can easily adapt it to use in YOUR business.

EVEN BETTER - I've persuaded him to create an entire step-by-step video training series showing you how to use this template to create irresistible reactivation letters for yourself!

And now you can own this powerful tool to reactivate your past customers and create windfall profits at the same time.

What Do The World's Most Influential Marketing Minds Say About Marketing To YOUR Existing Customers?

Peter Drucker, considered the most influential management thinker ever, once said, “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer.”

The reason is simple. The larger your customer base is, the more money you can make BECAUSE it's easier to sell to people who bought from you before.

Reactivating lost and inactive customers is the "low hanging fruit" you can easily grab to generate an Instant Cash Windfall with AND keep from going to your competitors.

How To Stop Competitors From Scooping Up Your Customers

Once you plug this customer reactivation marketing system into your business you can...

  • recover customers you normally would have lost
  • create instant windfall profits for yourself
  • stop your competitors from scooping up your neglected customers

If you don't use a letter like this to reactivate your lost/dormant customers you only have yourself to blame for the tens of thousands of dollars & hundreds of customers you lose every year.

The Surprising Good News?

Most small businesses - especially your competitors - are also guilty of committing the "Deadly Sin" of ignoring their past customers.

That means while they're spending enormous amount of time and money riding on the "New Customer Roller-Coaster"...

...you can be quietly raking in record profits because (according to research done by Small Business Trends)...

  • past customers are 60-70% more likely to buy from you again than a new prospect (a 5-20% chance)
  • 80% of your future profits are generated from 20% of your existing customers (80/20 rule)
  • 65% of your entire business will come directly from your existing customers
  • Past customers spend 33% more per transaction than new ones do

Don't be a struggling small business owner. Be a master of your customer list instead.

You worked hard to get people to be your customer in the first place, don't neglect them so they end up slipping away and into the arms of your competitors.

The sooner you reactivate lost and dormant customers the more valuable your list becomes and the more money you can make!

So Here's The Deal

Every time I send this reactivation letter out to my inactive customers, I make an average of $20,000 each time.

After I told a few colleagues about it (some of which were in totally different industries), they offered to pay me $2500 just for the letter

With my help they adapted it for their company and ended up making more money reactivating their customers than I did.

But you are NOT going to pay $2500.00.

If you were to ask me to write a reactivation letter for you from scratch, I would charge a minimum of $1500 to get it done for you.

But you're NOT going to pay $1500.00. Or even $1000.

And when you enroll today, you can also get all these...

Frequently asked questions

How do I receive the letter, templates and video training?

The entire program which includes the letters, templates, video training and bonuses are all delivered to you online.

Once your payment has been sent, you will directed to your personal Training area where all the RugLover Marketing products you've purchased (or will purchase in the future) can be found.

You will also be sent an email with all your login information so you can access your course at anytime and from any device.

How big of a list do I need to use this reactivation letter?

You can use this letter for any size customer list. What's important to remember is that you are turning a dormant customer into an active one. If you never do anything to contact them, you run the risk of having them forget all about you and run into the arms of your competitor instead.

Why wait for your customers to contact you when it's much more profitable for you to contact them? That's how you start to create your own economy!

By the way, you don't need a sophisticated computer system either to pull together your list of customers.

If you just have paper invoices, you can easily hire a student to take all the information in your invoices and enter them into a spreadsheet. Once you have all the data entered it's easy to use the spreadsheet sorting functions and find out who you should be contacting.

How big of a list did Dusty have to make $30k?

For Dusty to make $30k in sales from his reactivation letter he only sent it out to 1000 customers who have not done business with him in a year or more.

Now if you don't have that many people to send your letter to - remember that doesn't matter.  This reactivation letter is designed to do four things

  1. Reduce your attrition rate (the number of customers per year  who stop doing business with you)
  2. Bring past customers back to buy from you again
  3. Give you the opportunity to build on that relationship so they like you more than your competitor and buy from you more often
  4. Make you you immediate sales.

This reactivation letter is only stage one of mastering your customer list. What you are doing is going after your  "low hanging fruit": The customers who have bought from you before and are most likely to buy from you again just by asking them to.

I don't have a large list of customers. Will this still work for me?

If you have been in business for at least two or three years you should have a customer list that is big enough to work with.

Remember - what you are trying to do is KEEP as many of your customers as you can and not let them forget about you. That's why it is so important to contact those customers who have not done business with you in a year or more.

It's not the size of your list that matters - it's about doing everything you can to KEEP them coming back to spend money with you.

So whether you can only send out 10, 100  or 1000 letters - every customer you keep means profits now and in the future.

How often can I use this customer reactivation letter?

It all depends on how aggressive you want to be in your marketing. Normally you would use it once a year to reactivate those who should have come back but it can be effectively used two to three times a year.

What did it cost Dusty to send the letter?

The entire cost including postage to send out 1000 letters only came to around $900 (about 90 cents per letter which is pretty darn cheap!)

If he would have done it in-house instead, it would have cost him at least triple that amount in terms in of time, labor, frustration, higher postage and lost opportunity costs.

My suggestion is to ALWAYS use a mailing house unless you are mailing out less than 100 letters.

In the Advanced training program I show you exactly how to find a mailing house near your location. They can be located anywhere in the country and will do all the hard work for you. All you need to do is supply the letter and a list of names & addresses to send them to.
